Washington: The United States has announced the deployment of approximately 200 troops to monitor the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. These troops will join an international team tasked with overseeing the implementation of the peace agreement.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the 200 U.S. personnel, who are already stationed at CENTCOM, will collaborate with other international forces to ensure the ceasefire is maintained. This decision was confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a recent post on X.
The ceasefire agreement was reached between the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian Hamas Movement, with hostilities in Gaza being paused as part of the deal. The announcement was made by US President Donald Trump, who described it as the first step toward achieving "strong, durable, and everlasting peace."
