US Denies Involvement in Israeli Attacks on Iran

Washington: The US denied on Monday its involvement in repeated Israeli attacks on Iran, amid widespread speculation about possible US involvement in military tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv. Alex Pfeffer, a deputy assistant to US President Donald Trump, said in a post on Twitter that reports of US involvement in attacks on Iran were "fake news."

According to Kuwait News Agency, Pentagon Chief spokesman Sean Parnell responded to an Israeli channel's report about US aircraft participating in strikes against Iran, saying it was "not true." The spokesman stated in a post on social media platform X that "US forces maintain their defensive posture, and that has not changed. We will protect US forces and our interests."

The White House announced earlier on Monday that US President Donald Trump would return to Washington before the end of the G7 leaders' summit currently being held in Canada, citing developments in the Middle East, where Iran and Israel have been exchanging fire for several days. "President Trump had a great day at the G7 Summit," White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said in a post on the social media platform X.
