US Condemns Drone Attacks on Iraq’s Kurdistan Oil Fields

Washington: The United States strongly condemns the drone attacks that targeted oil fields in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region since July 14.

According to Kuwait News Agency, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Brousse stated in a press release that these attacks jeopardize Iraq's stability and economic future. She emphasized the responsibility of the Iraqi government to protect its territory and citizens, cautioning that the strikes pose a threat to international companies collaborating with Iraq on its developmental projects.

Brousse reiterated the US commitment to its partners throughout Iraq who are working towards establishing a stable, federal, and sovereign state. Earlier today, officials in Iraq's Kurdistan region reported a second drone attack within a span of 12 hours on an oil field in Dohuk, resulting in material damage but no casualties.
