US Approves Sales of Transportation and Consolidation Services to Ukraine

Washington: The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Ukraine, which includes transportation and consolidation services and related equipment, with an estimated cost of USD 99.5 million. This approval marks a significant step in enhancing Ukraine's capability to handle current and future security threats through improved logistical support.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency has delivered the necessary certification to notify Congress of the sale. Ukraine's request for these services aims to bolster its security assistance programs and improve logistical and program support. The proposed sale is expected to enhance Ukraine's ability to conduct self-defense and regional security missions effectively, with the country expected to seamlessly integrate these services into its armed forces.

In addition to this, the State Department has approved another potential Foreign Military Sale to Ukraine, involving equipment, repair services, and sustainment support for M777 Howitzers and related equipment. This sale is valued at an estimated USD 104 million. Ukraine has requested this package to facilitate long-term maintenance and operational support for the M777 howitzers, which includes non-MDE items such as technical assistance, training, and relevant publications.
