Kuwait city: Kuwait's Naval Force and their peers from other GCC member states concluded on Thursday the joint maritime exercise, Union 25, with the participation of the GCC Secretariat.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a press release after the end of the exercise, Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah emphasized that unified action and integrated efforts among GCC forces are essential for boosting naval security in the region. He highlighted the importance of strengthening collective defense potential to realize the vision of GCC leaders, and praised the sincere efforts of the naval forces involved in the preparation and execution of the exercise.
Meanwhile, Chief of General Staff of Kuwait's Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Khaled Al-Sharaian expressed appreciation for the professional level displayed during the exercise. He noted that the varied scenarios, testing of command systems, and handling of challenges contributed to enhancing the efficiency of the participating naval groups.
Lt. Gen. Al-Sharaian also stated that the aim of the exercise was to manage joint operations and planning to enhance and develop GCC joint military integration and cooperation. The Union 25 is part of a series of joint Gulf exercises designed to develop combat efficiency, bolster cooperation, and enhance the readiness of forces in defending territorial waters and protecting GCC national interests in economic waters.
