New York: Chief of the United Nations Antonio Guterres expressed on Friday his concern over the Israeli occupation's attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran amid nuclear talks between Iran and the US. In a press statement, Guterres condemned the military escalation in the Middle East, calling on all member states to act in accordance with international law and exercise maximum restraint to avoid any escalation in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, earlier on Friday, the Israeli occupation launched a wide-scale military operation targeting Iran's military and nuclear facilities. The attack resulted in the death of the chief of army staff, Mohammad Bagheri, along with other military leaders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The escalation has heightened tensions in the region, raising fears of further conflict as diplomatic efforts continue to salvage nuclear agreements between Iran and the US.
