UN Chief Condemns Israeli Occupation’s “State Land” Decision

Jerusalem: The UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres condemned the Israeli occupation's Government's decision to resume land registration procedures in Area C of the occupied West Bank, following a cabinet decision in May 2025.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Guterres stated that such measures, including the Israeli occupation's continued presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, are not only destabilizing but, as recalled by the International Court of Justice, unlawful.

He urged the Israeli occupation's government to immediately reverse these measures, cautioning that the current trajectory on the ground is eroding the prospect for the two-State solution.

The Secretary-General reiterated that all Israeli occupation settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the regime associated with them, have no legal validity and are in flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The Israeli occupation government agreed to resume land registration procedures in the West Bank, in a step that would convert areas of Palestinian land into so-called "state land" with the aim of illegal settlement expansion.
