UK Urges India and Pakistan to Seek Diplomatic Solutions Amid Rising Tensions

London: The United Kingdom expressed deep concern, Wednesday, over the escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, calling on both countries to exercise restraint and seek diplomatic dialogue to end the situation.

According to Kuwait News Agency, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed that he had held talks with his Pakistani and Indian counterparts, explaining that the escalation of the war would not be in the interest of either country. He emphasized the need for both sides to work swiftly to restore regional stability and protect civilians, while expressing his country's condemnation of the "terrorist" attack that occurred last month in the Pahalgam region.

Lammy added that the British government would continue to closely monitor developments on the ground and would be ready to provide the necessary assistance to British nationals in both India and Pakistan, noting his country's special historical ties with both nations.

Tensions escalated as India and Pakistan exchanged missile attacks on Tuesday, following India's accusation that Islamabad supported the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists.
