UK Records Over 1,000 Migrant Arrivals in One Day for Third Time This Year

London: The UK Home Office announced that 1,072 irregular migrants crossed the English Channel in 13 small boats without permission to enter the UK. This marks the third occasion this year that daily migrant arrivals have exceeded 1,000, bringing the total number of arrivals this year to 32,103.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressed strong disapproval of the ongoing situation, stating that the crossings are unacceptable and criticizing the people-smugglers responsible for the increase in irregular migration. She emphasized the measures being taken as part of a deal with France, which includes the detention of individuals crossing in small boats and the commencement of removal procedures.

Home Secretary Mahmood reaffirmed her commitment to securing the UK border, stating, "Protecting the UK border is my priority as Home Secretary and I will explore all options to restore order to our immigration system."
