According to Kuwait News Agency, Defence Secretary John Healey MP emphasized the evolving nature of global threats, necessitating a new era in defense strategies. "Our strength comes from hard power and strong alliances," he stated, highlighting the significance of this achievement alongside Italy, one of the UK's closest NATO allies. The Italian F-35s have been operational from the carrier, showcasing the robust partnership between the two nations' military forces.
This announcement coincides with a visit by the Defence Secretary and Foreign Secretary, who are hosting their Italian counterparts aboard HMS Prince of Wales, stationed off the coast of Naples.
