UK Economy Stagnant in July as Manufacturing Sector Underperforms

London: The UK economy failed to grow in July, according to the latest official figures. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported zero growth for the month, following a 0.4 percent expansion in June. According to Kuwait News Agency, the monthly figures can be volatile, and over the three months leading up to the end of July, the economy grew by 0.2 percent compared with the previous three months, as stated by the ONS. The government is under mounting pressure to deliver on its key priority of boosting economic growth ahead of the Budget on 26 November. The statistics body indicated that while the service sector performed well, driven by contributions from the health sector, computer programming, and office support services, these gains were offset by a weak performance in the manufacturing sector.
