UAE Cruise Past Hong Kong in Asian Handball Championship Opener

Kuwait city: The UAE on Thursday ran out comfortable 36-21 winners over Hong Kong in the curtain raiser of the 22nd Asian handball championship, starting their campaign in the most auspicious way possible. In group three action, the UAE dominated proceedings from the get-go, registering their first win in the Kuwait-hosted championship that runs until January 29.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the host nation will open their campaign later on Thursday in a clash with India. Meanwhile, Japan is set to take on Australia, and Saudi Arabia will face Iran to round out the first day of action.
