UAE and International Falconry Federation Praise Kuwait’s Organization of World Falcon Racing Cup

Kuwait city: The United Arab Emirates and Secretary General of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, Rashed bin Markhan, have praised Kuwait for its organization of the inaugural UAE World Falcon Racing Cup. They noted that the level of professionalism in hosting the event has elevated it to the standard of major international championships.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Markhan expressed his gratitude to Kuwait's Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. He acknowledged Al-Mutairi's support and oversight, which were crucial in delivering the tournament successfully. Markhan also lauded the organizing committees from Kuwait and the UAE, as well as the International Falconry Federations (IFF), for their collaborative efforts. He highlighted the strong performances by Kuwaiti falconers, attributing it to the country's rich heritage in the sport and its robust bird lineages, which fueled intense competition throughout the races.

Seif Al-Shalahi, a member of the organizing committee, Chairman of the Kuwait Falconers' Association, and member of the IFF, told KUNA that the participants' performances were remarkable and left a strong impression on all attendees, demonstrating their capability to compete on an international level. With Al-Mutairi's support, Kuwait is set to participate in the third International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing (IFFSR) Cup in Dubai next February. The country will be represented by winners from the current Cup's main rounds in categories such as Pure Gyr, Gyr Shaheen, Garmousha, and Gyr Tabaa, added Al-Shalahi.

Al-Shalahi also expressed gratitude to the UAE and IFF for selecting Kuwait as the host for the first edition, reflecting the solid friendship between the two nations. He emphasized that the successful outcome was due to the close cooperation between the Kuwaiti organizing committee and teams from the UAE and international bodies.

The winners will be honored at a closing ceremony at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, under the sponsorship of Al-Mutairi.
