Kuwait city: The Ghanaian ministers of defense and environment have died in a military helicopter crash on Tuesday evening, a few hours after the armed forces announced that connection with a helicopter carrying eight people was lost, Ghana's presidency announced on Wednesday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah stated in a press conference that Defense Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment, Science, and Technology Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed were among those killed in the crash in the central Ashanti region, along with some civilians and the crew.
Debrah described the accident as a "national tragedy" and mentioned that the President and government extend their sympathy to the families of the victims and the servicemen. He also announced that the country's flags would be flown at half-mast.
