Turkiye Secures Landmark Deal to Export 48 KAAN Fighter Jets to Indonesia

Ankara: Turkiye is set to export 48 of its KAAN national combat aircraft to Indonesia under a groundbreaking defense agreement, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday, describing it as a "record" deal. The agreement signifies a significant achievement for Turkiye's domestic and national defense industry.

According to Kuwait News Agency, President Erdogan expressed optimism about the new agreement, emphasizing that it will foster progress and achievements within the defense sectors of both Turkiye and Indonesia. In a post on social media platform X, Erdogan highlighted the potential benefits of this strategic collaboration.

The deal is designed to enhance knowledge sharing and boost local capabilities through strategic cooperation between the two nations, as reported by the state-run Anadolu news agency. Turkiye's KAAN fighter jet, which completed its maiden flight last year, is the first domestically-made fifth generation fighter jet, marking a significant milestone in Turkiye's defense manufacturing capabilities.
