Turkiye Intensifies Efforts to Strengthen Trade Ties with Kuwait: Envoy

Kuwait city: Turkiye is pushing forward with plans to propel trade relations with Kuwait to greater levels, Ankara's ambassador to Kuwait Tuba Nur Sonmez said on Wednesday. Kuwait's relations with Turkiye have made palpable progress in recent years, buoyed by the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kuwait last October, which came after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to Ankara. According to Kuwait News Agency, bilateral trade has surged to USD 1.08 billion in 2025, marking an increase of 0.25 percent compared to the previous year. Kuwaiti investments in Turkiye are currently valued at nearly USD two billion. The ambassador hailed these statistics as a testament to "mutual trust." Musiad's business activities have been highlighted by its international organization commission chief, Selim Sar, who noted that the delegation's visit to Kuwait aims to explore business opportunities there.
