Kuwait city: The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned on Sunday Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest place for worship in Islam, accompanied by Jewish settlers and police.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Turkish ministry issued a statement denouncing the actions of several Israeli ministers, including Ben-Gvir, who entered Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli police with groups of Israeli settlers. The ministry emphasized that respecting the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem is a collective responsibility that extends beyond the region, appealing to the human conscience.
The statement further criticized the actions as systematic provocations, noting that recent Israeli calls for annexation appear to be aimed at undermining the two-state solution and the prospects for peace. The Turkish Foreign Ministry reiterated its demand for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a lasting peace, grounded in the two-state solution. The ministry also called for an end to Israeli practices that destabilize Palestinian territories and the broader region.
