Istanbul: The Turkish Presidency has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli occupation's attack on the civilian boat Madleen, which was en route to deliver crucial humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Fahrettin Altun, the head of Communications at the Turkish Presidency, expressed deep outrage over the incident through a post on Platform X. Altun stated that the assault on Madleen was a blatant violation of international law and human rights, describing it as a disgraceful and unacceptable act.
Altun criticized the Israeli administration for its inability to tolerate the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance to Gaza. He emphasized that the region has been suffering from widespread destruction and systematic violence for several months.
He further remarked that such actions result from a state that disregards moral and legal norms, urging that the situation in Palestine should be recognized as a global humanitarian issue. Altun highlighted that the ongoing aggression over the past 20 months has turned the Israeli administration into a threat to both regional stability and international security. He warned that silence or inaction in response to these actions could be perceived as complicity.
In his concluding remarks, Altun reaffirmed Turkiye's call for an immediate cessation of violence, the continuous delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the region. He also urged the international community to take immediate and decisive steps to address the crisis.
