The Tunisian President Kais Saied appointed Tuesday Ahmed Hachani as a new prime minister replacing Najla Bouden Romdhane, who was the first female prime minister both in Tunisia and the Arab world.
In a televised statement, President Saied said that he relieved Romdhane of her duties and appointed Hachani as the new prime minister.
Hachani, an economy professor, currently works at the Central Bank of Tunisia.
