Washington: US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that setting up a "board of peace" under his presidency aims to observe the instable situation and maintain stability to avoid the US army's intervention. Making remarks to military commanders existing all over the meeting, Trump emphasized the importance of this initiative as a means to maintain peace in the volatile region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump elaborated on the plan during his address, noting that the proposal for the "Board of Peace" was initially his idea. He expressed surprise at being asked to chair the board, stating, "I wasn't counting on that. I had the idea for the Board of Peace, but I said yes." The initiative aims to oversee the Gaza region with the goal of keeping it peaceful and preventing the need for US military involvement.
Trump further highlighted the unique nature of this initiative, mentioning that leaders worldwide are eager to participate. He emphasized the importance of avoiding war, stating, "We don't want you fighting wars, but if you have to, you're the most lethal fighting force in the world." He also reflected on his administration's achievements in settling conflicts, including a potential settlement in the Middle East, which he described as possibly the biggest accomplishment yet.
Trump addressed the longstanding conflict in the Middle East, suggesting that the recent agreement, which involves the cooperation of Arab and Muslim nations, as well as Israel, could finally bring peace to the region. He acknowledged the challenges posed by Hamas but expressed optimism about the situation's resolution. He concluded by mentioning other international conflicts, including the ongoing situation with Russia, asserting that war is unpredictable and emphasizing his administration's success in settling numerous disputes.
