Washington: US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to the Palestinian movement Hamas, urging them to accept his proposed peace deal by Sunday or face dire consequences. Trump emphasized that the fate of the region hangs in the balance, as he outlined the gravity of the situation on his Truth Social account.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump cautioned that if Hamas fails to accept the accord to end the ongoing conflict, the repercussions would be devastating for the movement. He stressed that 'all hell, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas' if the agreement is not reached by the specified deadline of 6 P.M., Washington, D.C. time, on Sunday.
The American president called on civilians in Gaza to evacuate combat zones, particularly Gaza City, to seek safety in other areas of Gaza. Assuring that they would be taken care of, Trump stated, "I am asking that all innocent Palestinians immediately leave this area of potentially great future death (Gaza City) for safer parts of Gaza."
Trump further noted that the peace deal has garnered support from major nations in the Middle East, along with the United States and Israel. He described the agreement as a historic opportunity, stating, "This deal also spares the lives of the remaining Hamas fighters! The details of the document are known to the world, and it is a great one for all."
Trump's statements coincide with reports that Hamas is currently reviewing the US peace plan, amidst ongoing military offensives in Gaza City that have led many civilians to flee to southern regions of Gaza.
