Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran "should end." Speaking on his Truth Social platform, Trump shared that he had a detailed conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing the tensions in the region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Trump revealed that the call with Putin lasted about an hour, during which both leaders agreed on the necessity to end the hostilities between Israel and Iran. Trump also mentioned that he urged Putin to consider ending Russia's war with Ukraine, drawing a parallel between the two conflicts.
In the context of rising tensions, Trump reiterated his previous calls for Iran to enter into an agreement regarding its nuclear program. This comes amidst ongoing exchanges of attacks between Israel and Tehran. Additionally, Omani Foreign Minister Bader Al-Busaidi announced that the sixth round of nuclear talks between the United States and Iran, which were set to take place on June 15 in Muscat, have been canceled.
