Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that member states of the newly established Board of Peace are set to commit upwards of USD 5 billion in financial aid for the reconstruction and humanitarian stabilization of the Gaza Strip. The pledges are expected to be formalized during the Board's inaugural session later this week.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the US President stated that on February 19th, 2026, he will be joined by Board of Peace Members at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. During this event, they will announce that member states have pledged more than USD 5 billion toward the Gaza humanitarian and reconstruction efforts.
Beyond financial aid, the US leader added that the Board members have also committed thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and Local Police to maintain security and peace for Gazans. The President further called on the Palestinian movement Hamas to honor its commitment to full and immediate demilitarization.
"The Board of Peace will prove to be the most consequential international body in history, and it is my honor to serve as its Chairman," he stressed.
