Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that the United States will launch land military operations against Venezuelan drug trafficking networks "very soon".
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a thanksgiving phone call with service members late Thursday, Trump stated, "in recent weeks, you've been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers, of which there are many. Of course, there aren't too many coming in by sea anymore." He further mentioned, "You probably noticed that people aren't wanting to be delivering by sea, and we'll be starting to stop them by land also," emphasizing that "the land is easier, but that's going to start very soon."
Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt highlighted that the US considers Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's regime to be illegal.
