Manama, Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met Abdulla Al Mandous, the President of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) on the sidelines of the 50th Session of WMO/ESCAP Panel on Tropical Cyclones (PTC-50) hosted by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in collaboration with WMO. The minister reviewed means of cooperation in the meteorological field, noting Bahrain's keenness to further enhance international joint work in this area. The meeting also discussed cooperation in the field of training and education, exchange of information and technology, and development of early warning systems. Al Mandous expressed appreciation for Bahrain for hosting the 50th Session of WMO/ESCAP Panel on Tropical Cyclones (PTC-50). The WMO President commended the efforts of the kingdom for in meteorology and emphasised the need for increased cooperation in monitoring tropical cyclones and managing natural disasters.
