The University of Basra signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Marine Sciences and Technology in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, in the academic fields and raising the level of research.
The university media stated: “The MoU, which was signed by the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, with the Iranian University, stipulates joint work in the environmental and technological system file, transferring expertise, supporting development centers, crystallizing job and innovation opportunities through university technological incubators, and establishing joint research centers between the two countries to develop the fields of industry, agriculture and skills development.”
Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Falah Hassan Shiri, toured the university, which included the shipbuilding educational laboratory to see the mechanism of work of the courses for qualifying students, first aid courses, civil defense, and maritime rescue, the water and sediment analysis laboratory, the electronics laboratory, and the marine materials and rocks testing laboratory. The tour concluded with marine engineering laboratories and agreement on a mechanism for training students at the University of Marine Sciences.
