The UN envoy to Sudan, Volker Peretz, announced: “The Sudanese army and Rapid Support have agreed to hold technical talks for a ceasefire,” indicating: “The talks may take place in the city of Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia.”
Peretz said in statements followed by /NINA/: “Accepting a cease-fire does not mean accepting political negotiations.”
He added: “We will return to the issue of political arrangements after the ceasefire is established.
