The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, affirmed his country’s determination to facilitate the task of the Syrians’ return to their country voluntarily and without coercion.
Fidan said in a press statement today that Turkey is strongly committed to prevent turning the situation in Syria into a haven for terrorist organizations and a den for the outbreak of wars and conflicts by proxy.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed the importance of stability in Syria for the entire region and his country’s endeavor to achieve this through diplomatic efforts and international cooperation.
Fidan said ” Turkey is working to accelerate and facilitate the return of displaced Syrians to their country in a voluntary and safe manner, and realizes the importance of empowering them by rebuilding their lives and contributing to the reconstruction of their country, and providing them with the appropriate environment and necessary protection.”
He added that “Turkey will continue to work to strengthen diplomatic relations with all concerned parties with the aim of achieving peace and stability in Syria and the entire region,” stressing that “cooperation and dialogue are the only way to achieve a bright future for Syria and the Middle East region as a whole.”
