The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed that security and stability are two basic and important pillars for implementing the government program, providing services, and encouraging investment opportunities in the country.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated: “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Wednesday, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari.”
During the meeting, the President stressed that security and stability are two basic and important pillars for implementing the government program, providing services and encouraging investment opportunities in the country,” stressing “the need to pay full attention to the rights of citizens.”
He pointed out that “work is continuing on the issue of prisoners and detainees and their release after the end of their sentences in accordance with the law,” stressing that “work is underway to present several draft laws, including the anti-drug bill.”
Rashid praised, “the activities and efforts made by the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad and the provinces, to enhance the security effort and reduce crime in a way that secures the protection of citizens and their rights.”
In turn, the Minister of the Interior affirmed that “the ministry is working to secure the borders, especially in the southern governorates, and to prevent drug smuggling into the country,” noting that “work is underway to modernize the security services in their various formations, and to operate the electronic visa system.”
He explained that “the preparing and completing of (5) forced sanatoriums in a number of governorates have been completed.”
