The President of the Republic to a Kurdish delegation: There is a lack of proficiency in the Arabic language on the part of the members of this generation

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met today, at the Baghdad Palace, the head of the External Relations Department in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Safeen Dizai, and his accompanying delegation.

A presidential statement stated, “During the meeting, which was attended by the head of the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Baghdad, Fares Issa, the most important current issues and developments in the political situation were discussed, as the President of the Republic stressed the need for the effective presence of representatives of the regional government in Baghdad, in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between the two sides.”

The President referred to “the work to establish an Arab-Kurdish cultural center that serves the cultural movement in the country, highlights the role of literary and artistic figures, and presents their products to the public, indicating that there is a lack of proficiency in the Arabic language by members of this generation, and efforts must be intensified to rectify this defect.” He also stressed the importance of studying history and spreading the culture of reading and knowledge.

The President of the Republic spoke about several draft laws that are being worked on, such as the draft law of the Federation Council, the draft law of the Water Council, and the draft law of women, stressing also work to address many of the decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.

The President indicated, “The Presidency of the Republic worked with the concerned state institutions, such as the Ministry of Interior and Justice, to release many detainees, whose number exceeded nearly five thousand detainees during the past months.”

He also talked about the positive developments the country is witnessing in the field of services and security, stressing that the consolidation of security and stability are two pillars for solving all problems.
