Baghdad - The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, affirmed today, Monday, Iraq’s firm position in rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinians.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said that Rashid "met today, Monday, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and discussed with him the political situation in the country and coordination mechanisms between the House of Representatives and the Presidency of the Republic in submitting and approving important legislation."
He explained that the meeting discussed "developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the importance of making political and diplomatic efforts to stop the aggression and the continuing bombing of civilians, noting that the two sides reaffirmed Iraq's firm popular and official position in rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinians and their right to establish a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital." /End
