The Ministry of Interior announced the formation of 16 audit committees to determine the readiness of the weapons registration and delivery offices.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: “In implementation of the order of the Undersecretary for Police Affairs, Lieutenant General Adel Abbas Ibrahim, and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Directorate of Internal Security Forces Affairs, Major General Mazen Kamel Mansour, (16) audit committees were formed from the resources of the Directorate to the police commanders in Baghdad and the provinces to find out what the readiness of the weapons registration and delivery offices therein, in accordance with what was stated in the national policy to limit weapons to the hands of the state.”
