The Ministerial Council For Social Services Recommends The Establishment Of A Unified Electronic Platform For Public Government Tenders

The Ministerial Council for Social Services held its tenth regular session for the current year 2023 in the building of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim.

A statement by the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers stated: “The council discussed a number of issues and topics included in its agenda, which are transport agreements with the countries of the European Union and the United States of America, the dual use of airports in the governorates, and the unified electronic platform for public government tenders.”

According to the statement, the Council instructed the Board of Advisors to prepare a report on the reality of the aviation sector, identify obstacles and solutions, and send it to the Ministerial Council for Social Services, so that a special session would later be held to discuss it in the presence of the Minister of Transport, the Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, and others nominated by the Minister of Transport and the Board of Advisors to come up with appropriate recommendations.

The statement added that the council voted, during the session, recommending to the Council of Ministers, that the Ministry of Planning undertake contracting with a specialized consultant to prepare project documents for establishing the unified electronic platform for public government tenders, and announcing them for projects and selling their documents and for government investment plan projects, including (economic feasibility, scope of work, and specifications, technical terms, conditions of participation, and qualification of the applicant companies), up to the formula of the contract to invest in the infrastructure of the Ministry of Communications, provided that the company to which the bids are awarded bears the fees of the consultant, and the contract period and percentages of the Ministries of Planning and Finance and the contractor are agreed upon by a decision of the Ministerial Council for Social Services. /End
