The Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee to secure the Arbaeen visit, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, supervised the early preparations for the completion of the visitors’ road between the governorates of Baghdad and Karbala.
The ministry stated in a statement: “With the aim of field reviewing the progress of work on the roads that will be a corridor for the march of two million people during the Arbaeen visit of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, the Minister of Interior, the head of the Supreme Security Committee to secure the fortieth visit, inspected today the work carried out by the Baghdad governorate from the side of the capital on the road linking the two governorates of Baghdad and the holy Karbala, accompanied by the governor of Baghdad, Eng. Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, and a number of security and service personalities.
The minister affirmed that the security services, during the visits, work with organizational matters more than the security side, due to the density of visitors and the many vehicles and service convoys, indicating that the organizational aspects of these visits make them more secure.
Al-Shammari added that in previous years, the axis (Baghdad, Haswa, Alexandria, Musayyib, Karbala) witnessed a great momentum of visitors, which generated confusion in the movement, indicating that work is now being carried out within this axis by the Baghdad Governorate at a high-level pace and around the clock. Appreciating the great efforts made by the competent authorities in this field, especially Baghdad Governorate.
He explained that there is another axis carried out by the Ministry of Construction and Housing within Baghdad and Karbala, which will secure a circular road that does not pass through cities or districts and reeds, which will make a large flow of movement without any bottlenecks, indicating that this road will reduce the suffering of visitors during the crowdy occasions, whether during their going or coming back, .
He stressed that the concerned security services will develop a complete plan to secure this vital and important road.
