The Minister of Commerce discusses with the Moroccan Chargé d’Affaires aspects of joint economic and commercial cooperation

The Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, discussed with the Moroccan Chargé d’Affairs in Iraq, Abdel Karim Bin Salam, aspects of economic and commercial cooperation with Morocco, and the reactivation of the joint Iraqi-Moroccan committee.

Al-Ghurairy stressed in a statement, “the Iraqi government is keen to open up and support economic and commercial cooperation with all brotherly and friendly countries, including Morocco, and to open new channels of cooperation in various fields.”

He pointed to the importance of enhancing joint work between Iraq and Morocco and overcoming all challenges that impede the movement of trade exchange between the two countries and striving to activate economic and trade agreements between them in a way that serves mutual interests, based on mutual visions and the depth of historical and brotherly relations.

Minister Al-Ghurairy called on Morocco to actively participate in the upcoming Baghdad International Fair, which is expected to be held in early November in the capital, Baghdad.

For his part, the Moroccan Chargé d’Affaires affirmed his country’s keenness to activate and revitalize economic and trade relations in light of the desires and capabilities existing in both countries, in addition to his affirmation of Morocco’s readiness to support Iraq in its accession to the World Trade Organization.
