Kirkuk - The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan discussed with Beppe Louvoy, director of the UNAMI office in Kirkuk, in the presence of Ricardo Seva, head of the political affairs department in the UNAMI, the local elections scheduled to be held next month.
During the meeting, the political developments and the role of the UN mission in strengthening the mechanisms of joint dialogue between the components of Kirkuk were reviewed.
The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front presented a summary of the list of the United Iraqi Turkmen Front, its political vision, and its electoral program.
He stressed the need to give great importance to the file of local elections, especially in Kirkuk, where they will be held for the first time since 2005, stressing the need to end the file of auditing the voter registry in accordance with the law, to ensure the holding of fair and transparent elections, the achievement of broad participation by the masses, and the formation of a local government that expresses the aspirations of the people of Kirkuk
