The Arab League Council Meeting, At The Level Of FMs Starts At The Headquarters Of The General Secretariat

The 156th session of the Arab League Council meeting at the level of foreign ministers started today, Thursday, in the presence of Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Cairo.

The meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, as his country chairs the current session of the Council, succeeding the State of Qatar.

The League of Arab States witnessed the holding of meetings of permanent delegates in the past two days, in preparation for the ministerial meeting that started today.

The meeting will discuss many items related to joint Arab action and the implementation of the decisions of the previous session, in addition to the developments of the Palestinian cause and the Arab-Israeli conflict, as well as items related to Arab national security and developments in Syria and Libya.
