The Israeli occupation army on Thursday said a rocket had been launched from Lebanon toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
The rocket fell short of the presumed target, blowing up close to the border line, the army said in a statement.
In retaliation, Israeli army gunners fired volleys of 155 mm mortar shells in the direction of the location where the rocket had been fired near the Lebanese town of Kfar Shouba, it added.
In Beirut, the official National News Agency said the Israeli army artillerymen bombarded locations close to Kfar Shouba. At least 15 shells crashed into the region starting fires, the NNA added.
The NAA confirmed that a rocket had been fired from a location on the Lebanese territories and crashed into a Lebanese plot of land close to the borders. There was no word on losses.
