‘Tarjim’ Showcases Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Cooperation Efforts

Cairo: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's pavilion at the Cairo International Book Fair 2026 featured strong participation by the 'Tarjim' initiative, one of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission's initiatives, drawing notable interest from visitors and translation and publishing professionals from Egypt and abroad.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Tarjim initiative aims to empower the movement of translation to and from Arabic, facilitating communication between Saudi publishers, agents, and authors on one hand, and international publishers on the other. It contributes to opening new horizons for cultural cooperation and building sustainable professional partnerships that support the exchange of knowledge and expertise across diverse cultures.

The initiative's participation witnessed wide engagement from publishers, translators, and those interested in the book industry, where its objectives, mechanisms, and role in supporting translation projects and enhancing the global presence of Arabic content were introduced as part of an integrated framework pursued by the commission to develop the translation and publishing sector.

The participation also affirms the commitment of the commission to promoting cultural openness and supporting the translation industry as a bridge for civilizational communication, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to empower culture and expand its presence on the international stage.
