Dushanbe: Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon emphasized the significance of the Kuwait Phase of the Dushanbe Process as a crucial component in international counter-terrorism efforts and in developing effective border security mechanisms. In his address at the Fourth Dushanbe conference, Rahmon highlighted the partnership's role in addressing terrorism, which is of shared global responsibility amid current geopolitical conditions. According to Kuwait News Agency, Rahmon considers the Kuwaiti phase an effective element within the Dushanbe Process for combating terrorism, aiming to enhance regional and international cooperation across Central Asia, the Arab League, Africa, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Tajikistan, as the initiator of the Dushanbe Process, reaffirmed its commitment to collaboration with the UN and international partners to address terrorism, extremism, and violence, which are global threats concerning humanity. Rahmon pointed out the manipulation of young minds by te rrorist organizations as a tactic to instigate social and political change. He urged officials to address this issue with educational and social programs that offer economic opportunities to mitigate extremism risks. Furthermore, he advocated for professional training in modern technologies to bolster law enforcement and intelligence capabilities. Rahmon reiterated that successful counter-terrorism requires extensive and coordinated international cooperation. In response to rising threats such as terrorism, extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and cybercrime, Tajikistan emphasized the urgent need to enhance international security. Tajikistan supports strengthening cooperative measures to promote global peace, stability, and security through the sharing of information and expertise. Tajikistan advocates for an international treaty to combat terrorism and calls for the swift completion of negotiations. The continuous attempts by terrorist groups to breach borders highlight the importance of robust bo rder security. Tajikistan is enhancing border security mechanisms and collaborating with partners to prevent arms trafficking, drug smuggling, and terrorism financing. On the front lines against terrorism, extremism, and cross-border crime, Tajikistan recognizes the importance of global cooperation and actively participates in international security dialogues. With its National Strategy and Action Plan on Countering Terrorism and Extremism for 2021-2025, Tajikistan has made progress in reducing extremism and enhancing educational and civil society roles. The Dushanbe Process provides a platform for global anti-terrorism cooperation, inclusive dialogue, and best practice exchange. Tajikistan remains committed to these efforts, aiming to strengthen collaboration with partners for comprehensive security and stability. As part of its foreign policy, Tajikistan proposed a UN resolution for "The Decade of Promotion of Peace for Future Generations" to contribute to lasting global peace and safety. Tajikistan is o ptimistic that the Kuwait Phase of the Dushanbe Process Conference will enhance collective efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, reaffirming a shared commitment to a safer world.
