Sudanese Military Accuses Haftar Forces of Supporting Sudan’s Rapid Forces

Khartoum: The Sudanese Army leadership on Tuesday accused Libyan forces loyal to Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar of attacking border posts in the Sudan, Egypt, and Libya bordered triangle in support of the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohammed Hamediti.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement by the Sudanese Military described the intervention by the Libyan National Army, led by Khalifa Haftar, in the ongoing war in Sudan as "a blatant aggression against Sudan, its land, and its people." Sudanese media reported that clashes erupted between the Joint Forces, composed of Sudanese armed movements allied with the Sudanese military, and the Salafi Battalion, affiliated with the Libyan National Army, resulting in casualties on both sides.

A Sudanese military source informed media outlets that Libyan forces had penetrated more than three kilometers into Sudanese territory near Mount Al-Uwaynat, prompting an immediate response from the Sudanese army.
