The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, announced: “The visit of the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi to Kirkuk aims to assess the security situation and reopen the military sectors.
Al-Khafaji said: “The visit comes in implementation of the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to put pressure on terrorists, strengthen security efforts and coordinate cooperation with all security units.”
