Spain Welcomes President Trump’s Initiative to End Gaza Conflict

Madrid: The Spanish government on Tuesday expressed support for US President Donald Trump's plan to bring an end to the ongoing war in Gaza, urging all involved parties to commit to ceasing hostilities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all sides to make every possible effort to achieve a negotiated resolution to the conflict. The ministry reiterated its demand for a permanent ceasefire, the release of detainees, and the increased entry of humanitarian aid to address the prolonged suffering in the region.

The ministry also reaffirmed Spain's commitment to efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of a two-state solution.

President Trump presented the main aspects of a 20-point plan to halt the Israeli war on Gaza on Monday evening. The proposal outlines the disarmament of the Gaza Strip, a framework for its governance and reconstruction, the release of detainees, and the deployment of an international force in the area, coupled with a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces.
