Madrid: Spain and Oman have agreed to waive visa requirements for each other's nationals to facilitate easier travel. The agreement is part of a broader effort to boost bilateral cooperation, with six additional memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the visit.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said is on a three-day state visit to Spain. During the visit, he held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and other top officials. The discussions resulted in the visa waiver agreement and several other agreements covering areas such as clean energy, transportation, water resource management, and investment.
The talks between the Omani Sultan and the Spanish Prime Minister also addressed current global developments and efforts to enhance bilateral relations. The discussions included matters of mutual concern aimed at propelling relations to greater levels.
The Omani Sultan arrived in Spain on Monday for his first state visit to Madrid. He was welcomed by Spain's King Felipe in a ceremony at the Royal Palace.
