Somalia Announces Death of Seven “Shabab” Militia Members in Military Operation

Mogadishu: Somali authorities announced Tuesday the killing of seven members of the Al-Shabaab militia, affiliated with Al-Qaeda, in a military operation carried out by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in coordination with international partners in the Hiran region, southern and central Somalia.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the operation took place last night in the Kokley area following precise intelligence on militia movements. The statement detailed that seven "terrorists" were killed, and their combat vehicles and fortified camps were destroyed.

It further explained that the operation unfolded in three phases: the first targeted a militia camp and killed three members, the second phase killed four more, and the third phase resulted in the destruction of vehicles the group was preparing for combat.
