Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood and Chairperson of the National Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila, has confirmed that the second meeting of the National Committee has reviewed several essential topics related to the implementation of the international convention.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Huwaila stated in a press release on Wednesday that the committee initiated its meeting with a visual presentation that underscored the importance of early intervention in cases of developmental disabilities. The discussion also included proposals for establishing specialized nurseries designed to meet the unique needs of persons with disabilities, aiming to improve their quality of life and promote their integration into society.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed reports submitted by committee members on the progress made in implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Current updates, significant challenges, and strategies to address them in the future were also discussed.
Al-Huwaila stressed the committee's dedication to enhancing national policies and programs to ensure that persons with disabilities receive optimal services. This commitment reflects Kuwait's full adherence to the Disability Rights Convention and supports the country's prominent humanitarian efforts in this sector.
