Social Affairs Ministry Pledges Support for Disability Initiatives

Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila affirmed on Wednesday the ministry's keenness on supporting initiatives and programs aimed at serving persons with disabilities and ensuring a decent life for them. This came in a statement by Minister Al-Huwaila to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following her meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General's Representative and Resident Coordinator in Kuwait Ghada Al-Taher, and the President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST) Dr. Khalid Al-Begain.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing joint cooperation and the ministry's sponsorship of the second International Conference on Technology for Persons with Disabilities. Al-Huwaila highlighted the importance of partnerships and coordination among the ministry, KCST, and the United Nations office in social development and joint projects.

The discussions also explored potential participation in activities accompanying the 11th Conference of Ministers of Social Affairs and Social Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which is scheduled to be held in Kuwait next September. Minister Al-Huwaila emphasized the ministry's dedication to fostering inclusive development and creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
