Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ministry of Social Affairs, in cooperation with the Kuwait Charitable Societies Union, issued a report on Monday detailing the achievements and contributions of local charities toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
According to Kuwait News Agency, the report revealed that Kuwaiti charities have been involved in over 2,172 charitable projects across 72 countries, with a significant 38 percent of spending directed locally. The report highlighted key areas of focus, including quality education, which accounted for 29 percent of the efforts, poverty alleviation at 21 percent, and hunger eradication at 17 percent.
The report also recommended enhancing collaboration between civil society and government entities, adopting unified sustainability standards, and strengthening institutional capacity within the charity sector. It underscored Kuwait's charity sector as a vital component of the country's national soft power and a contributor to regional stability.
