Kuwait city: The Ministry of Social Affairs announced the disbursement of a third batch under the Third National Campaign to Settle Debtors' Obligations, aiding citizens with debts ranging from KD 10,000 to KD 15,000. This initiative benefits a total of 620 individuals, both men and women.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the cumulative beneficiaries across the three batches have reached 1,811 people. The Ministry reported that the total amount disbursed so far is KD 11,139,667.042, which is approximately USD 36,493,763. This amount is sourced from campaign proceeds exceeding KD 15 million, highlighting the State's commitment to addressing the financial distress of its citizens.
The Ministry clarified that files of beneficiaries from the third batch have been forwarded to the Civil Execution Department at the Ministry of Justice. This step is to ensure the processing of payment procedures, with notifications to be sent to recipients through the (Sahel) app after the completion of formalities.
The main committee overseeing the campaign is led by Acting Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi and includes representatives from various ministries and institutions such as the Ministries of Interior, Justice, and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the Secretariat General of Awqaf, the Zakat House, and the Ministry of Social Affairs. The committee is tasked with reviewing profiles based on specific criteria, including ensuring that recipients are Kuwaiti citizens, have not received prior support from the 2023 or 2024 campaigns, and have debts enforceable with an active execution file at the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry emphasized that the campaign to settle debtors' obligations is a reflection of the leadership's directives and the State's dedication to aiding financially distressed citizens. This effort aims to bolster family stability and social cohesion. The Ministry also noted that file reviews are ongoing, with plans to disburse additional batches in the near future.
