Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah on Monday engaged in discussions with Mamadou Sow, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation to the GCC, focusing on enhancing joint humanitarian cooperation. Al-Huwailah emphasized that the meeting underscores Kuwait's dedication to fortifying strategic partnerships with prominent international humanitarian organizations, especially the ICRC, highlighting Kuwait's enduring commitment to assisting those impacted by global crises.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Sow commended Kuwait's leading humanitarian initiatives, as demonstrated by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), and their robust collaboration with the ICRC. The discussions explored various areas of cooperation, including the promotion of international humanitarian law, support for missing-persons files, the Restoring Family Links program, disaster preparedness, and psychosocial support.
Sow also elaborated on the ICRC's global humanitarian mission and mentioned an upcoming high-level strategic dialogue that aims to spotlight Kuwait's leadership in regional and international relief efforts. This dialogue will involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KRCS, and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, further underscoring Kuwait's influential role in humanitarian aid.
